Many of you will know Claire for her delicious Yorkshire puddings and beer-battered haddock. We know Claire as a hard-working, dedicated, pro-active, and charming member of the Dyke’s End team, and that’s why we asked her to (kindly) be the General Manager of the pub. And she said yes! She does also make very nice Yorkshires, it’s true.
'The best Yorkshire pudding maker this side of the Dales'
Claire has been working at Dyke’s End since August 2022. Originally in the bar, her tour de force performance quickly achieved an exceptional level of banter with the locals.
Claire then moved into the kitchen to help with Sunday lunch service. Once again, she excelled, becoming an integral part of the catering team, and yes, the best Yorkshire pudding maker this side of the Dales (which are also gluten-free!). She then also became a regular in the kitchen on Fish & Chip night, cooking up our freshly delivered haddock every Friday and on music nights, to rave reviews.
Don’t worry, Claire will still be in the kitchen serving up the famous Dyke’s End Sunday Roast, fish and chips and pies, alongside landlord Dan, but will now also be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the pub, all things food and bar related.
Claire is looking forward to greeting you all in the pub for a pint in her new role as General Manager very soon.
